Position Description
The Business System Analyst (BSA) is accountable to work on projects related to the Total Payment solution focused in the areas of automated professional claim processing, payment and medical policy management. This Requirements Management (RM) team lead will work closely and collaborate with Product Management to understand the business needs to ultimately translate these into system requirements and ensure that the Product vision and goals are accomplished through the delivered code. The analyst will take ownership of requirements specification documents (requirements definition and functional specifications, any additional requirements artifacts and act as the key liaison to the Technology delivery teams ensuring requirements are understood.
Key Responsibilities
1.Assist Product Management in creation of business requirements. Participate in external customer validation of business and detailed functional requirements. 15%
2.Elicit, gather and define requirements, translate business requirements into functional requirements. Document user stories, business logic, customer workflows, use cases and detailed functional specifications to be shared with the Business and Technology teams. Also, when necessary, lead and facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with business, clinical, and technical stakeholders to better understand functional, data, user interface, and non-functional requirements. 50%
3.Participate as project team member. Support team to ensure requirements are understood. Perform user acceptance testing of development deliverables. Serve as content expert to assist Technical Writers in user documentation. Perform internal release training. Provide status and input to the project team. 35%

Requirements |
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of healthcare payor operations related experience with a focus on providing solutions for claim management. Experience in inpatient facility claim processing, professional claim processing and/or payment and medical policy management is needed. Must have payor experience and can translate market/business needs to solution requirements.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Expertise in Agile development methodologies is preferred.
Detailed knowledge of the software engineering process, problem solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to multi-task and react positively to frequent changes in priorities
Ability to write coherent and complete documentation in English for technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to verbally communicate succinctly and clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to build working relationships with IS team and business users
High level of project organization, attention to detail, and time management
High level of motivation to solve existing problems while anticipating new issues
Understanding and ability to write conditional statements żif-thenż (Boolean logic)
Thorough understanding of claims management billing systems
Ability to use SQL a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Office, MS Access or other database software, MS Project, Visio, Caliber and MS Visual SourceSafe.
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
